Delta is showing off its new Airbus A220 jet. The new aircraft features a total of 109 seats. Passengers who fly in the aircraft will be treated to upgrades like larger windows, bigger overhead luggage bins and lavatories with windows. Delta took possession of the first of its new A220 aircraft last week. Here’s what the sneak peek given by Delta has revealed so far:
- 12 seats in First Class, 15 seats in Delta Comfort+ and 82 seats in Main Cabin.
- Seat-back entertainment screens.
- In-seat power outlets.
- Satellite Wi-Fi.
- Some of the widest economy seats in the industry for narrow-body aircraft.
- Extra-large windows.
Delta only has plans to use the new A220 jet for domestic routes. However, the airline has worked hard to develop an aircraft that gives domestic travelers a taste of the luxury that is enjoyed by international customers. Only travelers on the East Coast will be able to experience the new A220 planes for now. Delta doesn’t have any plans to bring the new aircraft to the West Coast.
While Delta is proudly releasing sneak peeks of what its new aircraft looks like, it will be a little while before customers can enjoy the A220 in person. The first A220 flight is scheduled to depart on Jan. 31 of next year. The first customers to experience the new aircraft will travel from New York’s LaGuardia Airport (LGA) to Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) and Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW).
